I was in group 57: spy genre, submarine, ice cream.

And, I had to stretch myself for this one.

I'm glad to have tried!

I got Romance - strawberry field - golf ball and went a little over the top fantasy wise. A bit of pressure because the last time I wrote in this genre I placed first. This time I'm not very confident. Thank god there is an automatic second round. Had fun.

Does anyone feel like the more they edit, the more they ruin the story?

Any group 33er's out there?

Ghost Story, Boathouse and Sandbag?

Not my normal comfort zone, but from some of the combinations I've read in this forum, I'm not going to complain too much @_@  Wowzers.  Best of luck to everyone!

Depends on how florid and purple I get. Some of my favorite writers I like to emulate were paid by the word, or just plain wordy. Victorian lit and 30s pulp voices are always my downfall, if I'm not carefully managing my text as I go.

I Got Historical Fiction - A University Library and a Microphone

I'm hoping someone could help me with clarification on Location regarding the Historical Fiction Genre. I got 'A University Library' as the location. Because I got 'Historical Fiction' and the story is a Fiction piece, does the event that I'm going to write about actually had to have taken place at A University Library or is there some latitude on the location?

For example, President Kennedy gave a commencement speech at American University, but it wasn't in the library. If I wrote about this speech would it have needed to be at the library?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Oh so late to the game apologies, but I'd say you'd do alright trying to make the perspective of someone inside the library, who's thinking about the address? Who knows.

You have no idea. Someone once asked me how purple could my prose possibly be, since I wasn't an actual Victorian author.

"So purple, it's turgid and throbbing."

They got the picture.

In fact, they probably got several pictures at that point.

I'm in group 64 too! I'm moderately comfortable with what I submitted, but man that 1000 word max is limiting!! My biggest issues were figuring out exactly what was expected for a "drama" genre, figuring out what to do with the snail that would be unique, and... I admit it, I had to google what a "Cybercafe" was. I am not proud of that fact, haha!

This is my first time ever doing something like this, so I'm not going into it with any high expectations. It's a fun challenge.
