How Strict with Genre?

   Hi there, this was my first challenge, and I'm wondering how strict the competition is on genres. I didn't read the genre description until after I submitted (totally my fault). I had "Mystery" and made my story about a Private Investigator exploring the "mystery" of a cheating husband. Not sure if this fits well enough

	As long as there's a mystery that's being investigated, you should be okay. You certainly don't need a murder - we frequently get mysteries along the lines of 'who stole my sandwich?' or 'who farted?'.

	That's very helpful. Thank you. Fingers crossed! Regardless, I'll definitely be more wary of genre moving forward. Just wondering, do these flash fiction competitions happen more than once a year? It's so much fun - i hope it does!

	Flash is once a year, although they also do a short story competition (varying lengths), 250-word and 100-word competitions in similar formats, as well as a couple of screenplay competitions.
