I love betas and I’ve learnt so much and made great writing friends doing it. It adds a lot of fun to writing. But I’d also really love if contests asked writers to list their beta count.

Interesting survey. I've enjoyed giving beta feedback in the past, and yes, I've gotten beta feedback as well, but I tend to not have a lot of expectations because beta reading is a flow that you have where you are doing way more than copy edit or even structural edit. To me it's about reading a story to get the layers of meanings and feelings from the story.
