Hello,

for round 2 I got Historical Fiction/ Gun Shop.

After doing a bit of research, I have learned that the concept of a gun shop -- as in a store that is called Gun Shop -- didn't exist until the early 1900s. Before that, guns were purchased at General Stores or Hardware Stores.

My question is, if I set it in the 1800s in a General Store, does this still count as a Gun Store? I don't want to be DQ for a technicality like this.

Any defensible definition would work. You can even make up a definition inside the story :)

E.g. a general shop owner could playfully refer to their secret back room as the gun shop. Or a traveling merchant with very early firearm tech could refer to their wagon full of goods as a traveling gun shop. You could have kids playing imaginary cowboy games setting up sticks and pretending it's a gun shop.

As long as the story explains and justifies the use, you're good.
