Today I've felt very much of a writing hangover. I poured so much into my story that I feel mentally lethargic. I'm itching to write something else. I decided to go ahead and dive into the Flash Writing Battle on Thursday. Registration is only $25 USD.

Are any other NYCM members participating in this Writing Battle?

MEEE!! Ahh, can't wait to see EVEN MORE of your stuff!! Have you done it before or is this your first time? I did Autumn SS and had a blast, but so glad this is one's only 1k words as opposed to the 2k of the last battle. I lose years off my life every time I write something longer than Flash length LOL. Happy to send you my Autumn story if you'd like for fun; I wrote it the 5 hours before the deadline and it's similarly full of gay banter as my NYCM SS this year LOL

YAYY!!! I hope we both get good prompts and genres the first time.  I did Summer Flash last year and loved it! LOL I can understand that. Wouldn't have known it had that effect on you based on your story for this round, though!! Your writing always seems to flow so naturally.
I'd LOVE to read your Autumn story; happy to reciprocate if you want to read my Summer Flash. I did SO love the gay banter you used in that story. LOL Mine was based on Mythology, like what I wrote for this SS contest. Actually, I'm debating about combining both into a larger story/universe. Maybe.

I just registered. I am fairly certain I will not get through to the 3rd round of Rhyming Story (the competitors in my group were very fierce!) so it will give me something to do this weekend.

I just sent it along, and I'd love to read yours! Your Mythology-based writing is so rich; seeing that in a larger context would be so cool!! I loved my first round prompts for Autumn SS (I was gonna change my character but forgot the night of lock-in... oops...), so I'm hoping to get similarly lucky this time around, too. Can't wait for Max to release the genres on Thursday night!
