Hi there! Is anyone (like me) doing both this competition AND NaNoWriMo, which starts tonight at midnight? If so, how do you feel about it? It'll be a huge deal in a week and a half from now when the next round begins.

'Cause we'll either still be in the contest, in which case we'll have to put NaNoWriMo aside for the weekend, or we'll be out of the contest, in which case our writing morale might be down a bit. Either way it looks bad for NaNoWriMo efforts!

I'd rather be in the first boat (as hopefully we all will be--go us!), because NaNoWriMo takes "hits" anyway. Thanksgiving comes to mind. It's hard to spend time with family and write your NaNovel.

If anyone wants to add me on NaNo, I'm "Foe in the Midst". (Use their search function for authors.) Also, feel free to share about your NaNovel here... why not? I'm pumped and ready to write in 8 hours and 17 minutes. Go for gold, everyone! Clap

I'm doing it! Pantsing the hell out of it so we'll see how it goes. Since I doubt I'll move forward here, I look at it as more time for NaNo.
Name there is the same. :)

I'm actually trying to expand my rd1 piece into my NaNo novel.
It may be a disaster.

I'd actually forgotten that results for rd2 (and possible rd3 if i get very, very lucky) would fall early in NaNo...bring it on, i guess??

I'm doing it. Plus newborn (due 11/2, so any day now). Because... I'm crazy, basically.

Me, but didn't think about round 2! I'm thinking that's just three days that I might have spent blowing off and procrastinating anyway. LOL Last year I sometimes got up to 5,000 words a day so feeling like I can make it up if I have to. I'm just horrible about setting a routine.

*raises hand*

I'm not thinking much about Round 2 yet (much more excited to knock out this first draft of my first novel) but if I make it, I'm not planning on counting those words toward the total. I am THAT insanely hellbent on logging 50,000 words my novel, Fracture. Banged out 2200 words so far today.

I'm ChrissieM on NaNo.

All kinds of flower name options for that little one! Stick with a good thing when you find it.

I'm in for NaNoWriMo. Hoping for good results here to go to the next round as well. If that happens, I'll just blow off NaNo for the weekend. Because really, the goal of both contests is the same for me... BUTT IN CHAIR - FINGERS ON KEYS - GET WRITING...

Good luck everyone!

I'm not officially signed up for Nanowrimo, but I'm currently unofficially doing it. Two reasons I'm not doing it unofficially, I had some hand written pages from several months ago and I think my novel will go beyond 50,000 words, so I don't think I can tie everything up within that word count, but am hoping to get at least 50,000 done this month.
I really don't think I'm moving on in the comp because my 1st round was a 4.
I'm also supposed to be getting ready to query my other manuscript, but so far I've only gathered about 15 possible agents, in my query prep book.
And I started out Nov. 1 with a minor / slightly more than minor car accident, so there is that : (
Ended up with 1,488 words for the day.

I'm doing both! I'm trying to get ahead in this first week so that if I am lucky enough to move on in the competition, I'll feel okay taking a weekend off to write. Bonus points if I happen to get a genre that I can work into my novel after. ;-) Add me on NaNoWriMo: SassHonore!
