Tokens

A man dies playing the videogame Galaga just before he reaches the final level.

Dude, Galaga rules!  I still dream of having a full standup version in my house some day.

What is the obsession around these parts with chocolate?  It never ends.

Having Galaga in the story started out as a joke after joking with a friend about having the story be about Pac Man ghosts. And then I just couldn't get the idea of a story about Galaga out of my head. I knew how it would start and end but I really struggled getting the middle done.

Hey all! Here are my title and synopsis for this round.

Group 11: Ghost Story/Video Arcade/Chocolate Bar

Extinguishing The Flames

Tragedies often blur the boundary lines between life and death.
Sometimes, it becomes difficult to see one when you are only looking for the other.

Good luck in round 2!

Water Gun

Hey Ho Let's Go

The Pro-Peace Alliance sponsors a spectacular celebration for the first graduating class.  Sid learns that rumors surrounding the PPA are true.

OK -- the synopsis is a bit weak but... this was my first sci-fi ever and when it was done I was done...

Group 14, Political Satire, an airport security checkpoint, a map.

COMMON

SYNOPSIS: A former President and First Lady face challenges when their tight financial situation forces them to take a commercial flight to meet their new grandchild.

This was a really tough one for me, because political satire is so NOT my genre. I don't enjoy reading it, and, as I learned this weekend, writing it is even worse. This was the third completely separate concept I attempted to write for this challenge, and all I could say after submitting it was, "Well, at least that's done..."
