4 weeks from today is the 3 Day Novel Contest- my long time addiction. Wondering if anyone else on here will be joining me this year. Last year they were veeeeeery slow with results. They still haven't announced the winner. But with that disclaimer, it is a great time for a writer and there's a wonderful 3 day community.

If you haven't heard of this, it's Labor/labour day weekend. Honor system. Your write and edit a novel in just three days (generally novella length 35k words is typical). Each year 1 winner gets published.

I’m tempted!  I’ve never written a novel but this sounds oddly, horrifyingly, fun.

Shocked

Madness! And yet, like Charlie72 says, sounds oddly fun. Nothing like a deadline.

Will look out for it next year and keep my calendar free.

Have you ever produced anything you really liked during the competition Catrad?

I've done it about 10 times and ended up with a couple of viable books. It's always a great experience. Once you know you can write a book in 3 days, anything seems possible.

That sounds terrifying and absolutely fun. I've never heard of that before.

Oh wow. You get a publishing deal? Are there any prizes for second place and beyond, or is it just the publishing deal for the one person? Question

I just read this on their site:

How do I get through this alive?

Read the Survival Guide. Remember to eat once in a while. Beyond that, we can’t help you.

LOL
