I love the competitions but why must I struggle so much every. Single. Time!?!? 😩 I got fairy tale this time and I really don’t like that genre so it’s a huge struggle. I also got a fountain as my location so not sure what I can do that would primarily take place at a fountain! I’m just a mess over here so figured I’d procrastinate a bit and see how everyone else is doing...?

I was for a long time today.  I like to have things in order in my head before I start writing.  Idea took a long time too but I got a rough draft done in a few hours once I started.

As far the location, I had a voting booth in a fantasy last year. Very little of my story, or others in my group, took place in the voting booth.  Just had a very meaningful vote take place.

This year it’s auction, with the auction setting off the events.

Keep at it!

I wasn't able to start until about two hours ago, and I don't have a blank page, but what I do have is something that I think needs to be a short story, not flash! I love it so far and feel like I have momentum, so a part of me wants to keep working on it, even if it means neglecting the contest. But I placed well in the first challenge and would like to continue, so I guess I'll try to get a shorter piece together sometime tomorrow!

Me.
Overloaded and trying to find a simple enough storyline within THE HUGE NETFUL OF FISH I hauled in on my deep dive expedition.  I think i've got it, but I'm still deeply unsatisfied at the moment.  Plus, I keep slamming into a wall of my own ignorance, which is humbling but also frustrating.

Fortunately, I'm a process person and don't mind getting beat up a bit.

I’ve only got about 250 words on the page, but between starting and getting there my entire story has emerged in my brain, so that’s a relief. Haha.

I got spy as a genre, which is new for me, and something I don’t watch/read a lot, so it’s been a difficult road. Haha

Keep at it, and the inspiration will come! Just hopefully not at like 8pm tomorrow night.

I had my idea almost instantly last night. Did a little research as well. I have quite a few lines and a rough outline composed in my head.

But I don't have a single word down.

Just don't feel like writing yet. Not in a rush. I'll have a draft done at some point tonight. Gonna have dinner and read for awhile. Maybe go for a walk.

After struggling with a blank page I managed to painfully get myself a first draft, that I really don't like.
I'm not sure about my story and am thinking of starting over completely, so you're definitely not alone in facing a blank page.

My people!

I have not one but two uni assignments due tonight so I haven't managed to get more than a few lines down yet. Luckily one essay is done and submitted now and I think I've come to terms that the other one will have to be late... oops.

I have hist fic which I've been hanging out for and had two ideas almost instantly, but had to drop my favourite of the two given that my object prompt wouldn't have been invented yet. And now the more I brainstorm my second idea the more I realise it's veeeery similar to two stories I wrote for flash last year, just from a different perspective... so I'm overthinking whether or not I should scrap it and start over with something different. *insert facepalm emoji here*

Blank here. My category is Thriller.  Next to RomCom, this is probably my least fave. I’m pretty sure I won’t be writing anything this round.

I had slightly better luck. My issue was geographical rather than chronological. The observatory I wanted in the city I wanted was actually moved about ten years before my story takes place. But the new location is still close enough to where I need it to be, and may actually help me on word count as I'll just have to let some things go.
