Months ago, I decided there was zero chance of making this round and booked a holiday a nine-hour journey away, travelling yesterday. With stops, having to change a wheel and driving very gingerly after that, it became an eleven-hour journey. Today, I've going to take the car to get the rest of the tyres changed, and we're meeting a relative this afternoon. The cottage we're staying in has very dodgy broadband, and my laptop has already 'identified a problem' and shut down once this morning.
I've got nothing. Wish me luck.

Just got my first draft finished, it’s off to bed before beta reads and revisions in the morning.  Happy, felt like I was staring at a brick wall a few hours ago.

Well my prompts were Historical Fiction, a newsstand, and a parking meter. Considering the trash I've had earlier, I'm thrilled. I have a story idea/outline that I know will knock it out of the park if I nail it.

However, I am NOT nailing it. And I only really have a couple of hours to functionally work on the story before my work week starts (yay for living in Australia).

Sooooo we will see.

I wanted to have 600 words before calling it a night last night, but gave up before then. I have about 400 words, and a whole lot of story in my head to fill in the blanks. Aiming for a first draft before the Colts game at 1, to make sure this thing fits into 1000 words. And feels horror-y enough. I think I'm digging my idea. Now to make it work!

I got a story idea pretty easily, and after the first draft was only about 70 words over. My main issue now is deciding between two endings: A happy one for the protagonists, or one that's more uncertain/open ended.

Wrote 725 words yesterday and thought "great! 275 words to play with when I revise!" Woke up this morning with an inspiration and by the time I ironed it all out I was at 1230 words.

Frantically trying to prune adjectives and adverbs without losing the heart of the story...

Yeah, I'm out. I was already at a loss having started six different rom coms, and now I just checked my work email (very foolish thing to do). Drama, horror would have fit the bill. Good luck to all.
