I got Fairy Tale, a nightclub, and a piggy bank.
I have no ideas and zero words as of yet.

Hoping a cup of tea will help!

Thanks! I'm muddling through. I also have a 16 month old so I don't have as much time to devote to it as I'd like...But I guess it's mostly about having fun?

They are not kidding about this being a challenge!

I've done this contest for five years.

This is the first time I'm despondent over these prompts. I'm in G69 as well.

Oh, come on now. Two beautiful women at a beauty pageant will create all the drama you can handle.  LOL

Never done a fairy tale before, so this should be interesting. After sleeping on it last night (waiting up until midnight to see the prompt), I at least have a working idea. Now to squeeze in the writing between work and a grad party today, then church & a meeting tomorrow.
Another one for group 79, and it's my/our first year. I'm partnering with my 18 yo daughter for this contest.

My poor husband and other children. TWO writers in the family (possibly more, the 5 and 4 yo haven't said, and the 10 yo might go the way of the writer...) and both working on a project together...we may have to get a hotel room for the wknd next time...

It's the first time I've ever done a competition like this and pretty much all of my personal creative writing has been fantasy so it's interesting to try branching out :D
I would say horror would be a second tier choice for me, if I grouped them into three broad categories so was decently happy with the pot luck :D

Hi there fellow 55er!

Comedy, a photography studio, a slice of cheese. Comedy is not my forte. I usually write historical fiction,  so I read a lot of Gogol stories to prime myself for that sort of restrained humor. I think I managed to pull it off effectively, but I don't know if anyone else will like it. It's pretty sick.Confused
But it's the truth even if it didn't happen.

Historical, a seized plot of land, and a rope.

Since I normally write sci fi I thought this would be worse than it was. Turns out a good friend of mine is a history buff and we have some helpful local history that I could use. Not sure how it's going to translate into the judge's rating, especially considering it's the opposite of what I'd normally write - but I'm happy that I have something, at the very least.

Best of luck to everyone! :)
