Because I need to ask the important questions!

Have the star ratings changed? I used to have four stars, and now I only have three? I used to be an addict and now I'm a regular? I was counting down the posts to my next star! :)

I realize I have no life. Star

How odd!

I'd lobby to get that star back if you earned it.LOL

BTW if that's your hair, I love the colour!

I might have to stage a protest to reinstate my star! :) Surely there's a pennant emoticon that's appropriate.

That is my hair! Or my hair about 9 months ago - I had to take the violet and fuschia out because I just didn't have time to maintain it properly, and it was bleeding too much into my regular hair which made it a bit less nice.

Thank you for posting, Victoria!  I just logged on and was about to post the same thing (I'm also glad I'm not the only one this happened to...was starting to think I was a little crazy).  Wink
During the FF2015 competition, I definitely had 3 stars, and when I logged onto the forums for the SS, I was down to 2.  It's a total bummer, for sure!

We did change it slightly, sorry!  We won't be changing it again any time soon though, we just felt it needed a little bit of tweak since the forum has been growing these past few years.  Sorry again!

Ahhh, you moved my goalpost! I feel like Lucy pulled the football away! ;)

Just kidding. I am sure I can find a way to be Gobby enough to get it back.

Thank you for the info. Wish you would've made the changes for the new people and grandfathered in everyone else, but such is life, I guess.

We could always just come back to this post and comment with a Cry every 20 seconds until we get our stars back.

I do now, TC.  I didn't a week ago when I posted this.  :)

I was onl something like 20 away from my fifth star, but they changed it and dropped me down to three, so then I was 20 away from my fourth star instead.

I'm sure that is clear as mud now :D

People just look to see the break-off when other people get stars, I think. I don't know that it's actually written anywhere. But, you get more points for "thanks" on your posts than you do for just a comment. So, a good way to blast through the levels is to write something helpful that people will thank you for. :)

At the moment, I think it's:

0-99 points: Newbie (one star)
100-249 points: Groupie (two star) -- one person with 256 as a Groupie… so maybe 260?
250-499 points: Regular (three star) -- one person with 505 still as Regular? Maybe 510?
500-1499 points: Addict (four star)
1500+ points: Black Belt (five star)

And -- I think it also depends on whether or not you've been active recently. The people that started way back when got to keep their BlackBelt status at under 1000 points… but only as long as they're not active. As soon as you come back it recalculates.

Have fun chasing those stars!

I've been around for a little while, and I still don't know how the stars that appear along with our screen names and photo to the left relate to the stars that show up in the center of the screen under the heading, rating. I've looked around on the site but haven't found any explanation. Would anyone care to enlighten me?

The stars by your name relate to the number of points you have (as outlined above). You get 1 point for every reply/comment you make, 2 points for every new topic you post, and 5 points every time someone "thanks" you for a reply/message.

The stars in the "rating" are ratings for posts. You can rate a post when you have it open (up in the corner of the post just above "post options" -- click on how many stars you want to give it. Those show up along side the topic in all the menus.

As far as I know, that doesn't affect the poster's personal points… Big smile

There it is!! Thank you! Also, I've been on this forum since 2014 and never once even noticed the "thanks" button until today. The things you learn when you are bored on a Sunday Night and dont watch the super bowl.....and instead decide to crawl through the forums. LOL
