Are the points you receive based in any way on how many people have read and commented on your story? How many you've read and commented on?
Just curious. |

I don't think so because there's a handful of stories with high marks that were never posted to the forum.

"Points" (under your signature) are based on your activity on the forum.
The points you score in the competition are based on the judges' feedback and have absolutely nothing to do with the forum. Combined judging points for Challenges 1 and 2 will determine whether you move forward to the next round. Posting to the forum is not obligatory in the contest, but I (and many others) would strongly suggest it, as that's where the real value comes in to this competition. Hope this helps and good luck!

If you're talking about your forum points (not your story points)... it goes like this:
2 points for starting a new topic 1 point for replying on an existing topic 5 points for being thanked by people for your post or reply Once you reach certain key point values, your forum status will go up (currently according to this scale, I believe): Newbie: Fewer than 100 points Groupie: 100 to 250 points Regular: 250 to 499 points Addict: 500 to 1499 points Black Belt: 1500 points or more Except that they've changed this a couple times (raising the points needed each time), and points continue to rack up over the years, but if you're not active for a while some of your points may no longer be counted toward your ranking. So for people who have been around on the forums longer, some of them might be ranked higher/lower than you would expect.
