Congrats to all who got through to the 2nd round! I thought Round 1 was tough enough but this one was made worse by being away working as heats were announced. And the deadline is Midnight in NY, 6 hours after midnight here in the UK; which is approximately 2 1/2 hrs after bedtime. ;-)
Hamlyn's Water Music "The Mayor of a small town refuses to pay the owner of a site clearance company in full, only to discover she has other methods of extracting payment in kind." Fairy tale/failing business/alpha male. Someone previously mentioned how their research led to unexpected discoveries. Same thing happened here. Have you seen how dark the original fairy tales were? Bloody is an understatement. And also how misogynistic. Rape, mutilation and murder were regular ends for the girls, but the Prince was Charming. So it's okay?!?! This needed addressing; I hope I've gone some small way in my script. Good luck to everyone!

Full disclosure: I read your logline in Don Lafontaine's voice. Call that a success. |

Ha ha... let me revise. In a world where things happen, a young girl with nowhere to run encounters homeowners with something to hide. |

Going for more "recent" history, are we, Scarlet? That's a change for you... I landed in Group 6 - Suspense/Home security/A youth sports coach TITLE Insecurity LOGLINE A 15-year old student soccer player is dead, and his coach knows more than she's letting on. Over a long weekend, her home security system starts acting up; is it a glitch, or does someone else know her secrets? Best of luck to you, Scarlet. Looking forward to competing with you in Round 3. :)

I took a few, uh, creative liberties with my script. Heh.
Group 6 - Suspense/Home security/A youth sports coach Title - Hounds in the Bunker Logline - In an attempt to defend his 12-year-old son from a pack of approaching hounds, a protective father locks him in a bunker that is inescapable for seven days - but not before one of the hounds slips in. |

Heat 6:
Suspense/Home Security/Youth Sports Coach Penalty Box "An abusive hockey coach finds himself on the receiving end of an unbalanced player pushed too far" Tried to get creative with the home security part of the requirement, and made it an app on his phone... the only clickable icon on his shattered screen. |
