What are you listening to while you write? Before writing while brainstorming i let some rap flow... wash myself with as many words in a little time as I could. Now though getting into the heat of writing itself I'm rocking out to the Hellsing soundtrack. I may go Miyazaki before too long though :o
That or some classical or heavy Saxophone What music inspires you?

I can't listen to music - anything with words gets into my head!
I really love this website for a choice of background noise - http://www.noisli.com/ Definitely recommended!

Pithy sayings are for the apt. For a longer message, you need a condo.

I just let Accuradio stream. Typically Modern Rock Classics.
If there is a specific type of scene/section/chapter I need to work on, I usually have a particular song that helps me have the right mood. For that I use listenonrepeat.com to loop it. |

For this round I listened to Aqua's theme from Kingdom Hearts on repeat. otherwise I usually look for instrumental playlists that sort of match whatever mood i'm aiming for. 8tracks has served me well

Classical, movie soundtracks, and opera. Can't listen to songs with lyrics I know, too distracting. Plus so much emotion in this kind of music, I can't help but be inspired.

I have an entire playlist for when I'm writing. It's filled with Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop and FLCL anime music and Nobuo Uematsu & Yasunori Mitsuda game soundtracks. I'm a total geek. I know...
I used to have Sleepy Hollow soundtrack for when I was writing something horror-y, but I lost that 5 years ago. :(

I have a large playlist with music ranging from bands and artists such as Within Temptation, Five Finger Deathpunch, Skillet, Static Cycle, Daughtry, Three Doors down, Aqua, Kelly Clarkson, K$sha, Apacolytica, Halestorm, Linsey Stirling, Disney soundtracks, Billy Idol.
Just any music I enjoy usually helps me stay focused and can inspire something in my story to get the juices flowing. |

I like all the soundtrack love in here! You guys have good taste.
I've actually been binge watching "My So-Called Life" on iTunes down in the lower right-hand corner of my screen while trying to piece my non-story together in the middle of my desktop. Good show; shame they cancelled it.
